Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare strawberry
Wash and hull one fresh strawberry. Cut into quarters. Place 3 of the quarters in the bottom of a mixing glass or shaker.
- 2
Muddle
Gently muddle the strawberry quarters until they release their juices but are not pulverized — you want small pieces and bright color (about 8–10 gentle presses).
- 3
Add spirits and sweetener
Pour in 1 oz gin, 1 oz strawberry amaro, and 1 oz sweet vermouth into the mixing glass. If you prefer a slightly sweeter cocktail or your strawberry amaro is very dry, add 0.25 tbs simple syrup. Add 1 dash of aromatic bitters if using.

- 5
Prepare serving glass
Place one large ice cube or two large cubes in an Old Fashioned/rocks glass. If desired, rub the rim lightly with the remaining strawberry quarter for extra aroma.
- 6
Strain
Double-strain the stirred cocktail into the prepared rocks glass using a standard Hawthorne strainer with a fine-mesh (to catch small strawberry bits).

- 8
Serve
Serve immediately. Optionally provide a small straw. Sip slowly to enjoy the balance of gin brightness, the bittersweet strawberry amaro, and vermouth richness.
