Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Mix the drink

Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice cubes. Add 2 oz vodka, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 1.25 oz grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, and 0.25 oz orange liqueur. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and well-chilled.

  2. 2

Double-strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer (or the shaker strainer) into the prepared glass (see rim instructions). If you prefer the cocktail slightly more diluted, pour over one large ice cube; otherwise serve up (no ice).

Garnish & rim

  1. 3

    Salt the rim

Run the grapefruit wedge around the outer rim of a coupe or old-fashioned glass to wet it. Spread the fine sea salt on a small plate and gently dip the rim into the salt to coat about half to three-quarters of the rim, or to your preference. Shake off any excess.

  2. 4

    Finish and garnish

If served up, strain the cocktail into the salted glass. If serving on the rocks, add one large ice cube then strain. Express the oils from the grapefruit wedge over the drink and drop it in as a garnish or twist a thin grapefruit peel over the surface and rest it on the rim.
