Method
Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Espresso
Brew a strong cup of espresso and allow it to cool. You can add a splash of coffee liqueur for extra flavor if desired.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
- 3
Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled espresso for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in a rectangular dish.
- 4
Layer the Cream
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers evenly. Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top generously with cocoa powder and sprinkle with chocolate shavings if using.
