Sweet Tea Directions

   Boil Water

   In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

   Add Tea Bags

   Once the water is boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes.

   Sweeten the Tea

   While the tea is steeping, add 1 cup of sugar to a large pitcher. After the tea has steeped for 5 minutes, carefully remove the tea bags and pour the hot tea into the pitcher with the sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

   Cool the Tea

   Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.

   Serve

   To serve, fill glasses with ice, pour the chilled sweet tea over the ice, and garnish with lemon slices to taste.
