Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the porterhouse steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Season the Steak

Rub the olive oil all over the steak. Season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time for your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Aromatics

During the last minute of cooking, add the fresh rosemary sprigs to the skillet or place them directly on the steak on the grill for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked porterhouse steak!
