Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

  3. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, cut the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion slices, ketchup, and mustard.

  5. 5

    Serve

Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your classic burger!
