Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Cook the Meats

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, veal, and pork. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Season the Meat

Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to the meat mixture. Stir well and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Ricotta Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and half of the Asiago cheese. Mix well and set aside.

  5. 5

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

In a large baking dish, start by spreading 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place 3 sheets of lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the meat mixture, half of the ricotta mixture, and a sprinkle of fresh basil.

  2. 7

    Add More Layers

Repeat the layering process with another cup of marinara, 3 more noodles, the remaining meat mixture, the remaining ricotta mixture, and more fresh basil. Top with the final layer of noodles, the remaining marinara sauce, and sprinkle with the remaining Asiago and Parmesan cheese.

Baking

  1. 8

    Cover and Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

  2. 9

    Uncover and Brown

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  3. 10

    Rest and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
