Method

Meatballs or Sausage Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Meatballs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Alternatively, you can bake the meatballs at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

  3. 6

    Combine with Meatballs

Add the browned meatballs to the marinara sauce. Let them simmer together for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Pasta Preparation

  1. 7

    Cook the Linguine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 8

    Drain and Combine

Drain the linguine and return it to the pot. Add the marinara sauce with meatballs and toss to coat the pasta evenly.
