Fried Calamari

Fried Calamari

    Prepare the Calamari

    Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

    Combine Coatings

    In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

    Coat the Calamari

    Toss the calamari rings in the flour mixture until they are evenly coated.

    Heat the Oil

    In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

    Fry the Calamari

    Carefully add the coated calamari rings to the hot oil in batches, frying them for approximately 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cherry Pepper Aioli

    Mix the Ingredients

    In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped cherry peppers, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt.

    Blend the Aioli

    Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined. Adjust salt to taste.

Garnish and Assembly

    Prepare the Plate

    On a serving platter, lay down a bed of arugula.

    Place the fried calamari on top of the arugula.

    Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze
