Salad Base

Caesar Dressing

Method

Preparing the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Romaine

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Grate the Cheeses

Using a grater, grate the Parmesan and Romano cheeses. Set aside for later use.

Making Croutons

  1. 3

    Prepare the Bread

Cut the bread into small cubes, about 1-inch in size. You should have approximately 2 cups of bread cubes.

  2. 4

    Toss with Olive Oil

In a mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  3. 5

    Bake the Croutons

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Preparing the Caesar Dressing

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, anchovy paste, minced garlic, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Add the chopped romaine lettuce to a large salad bowl. Top with grated Parmesan and Romano cheeses, croutons, and drizzle Caesar dressing over the salad. Toss gently to combine. Serve immediately.
