Dasha’s Special Spicy Sauce

Method

Preparing the Mushrooms

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Rinse the fresh button mushrooms under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

Set up a breading station: Place all-purpose flour in one bowl, beat the eggs in a second bowl, and add breadcrumbs mixed with salt and black pepper in a third bowl.

  3. 3

    Bread the Mushrooms

Dip each mushroom in the flour to coat, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each mushroom is fully covered.

Frying the Mushrooms

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 180°C (350°F).

  2. 5

    Fry the Mushrooms

Carefully add the breaded mushrooms to the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.

  3. 6

    Drain Excess Oil

Once fried, remove the mushrooms from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Making Dasha’s Special Spicy Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, lemon juice, and garlic powder. Mix until well blended.

  2. 8

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the sauce and add salt to taste. Mix again to incorporate.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Serve the fried mushrooms hot with Dasha’s special spicy sauce on the side for dipping.
