Steak and Sandwich Components

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the olive oil, salt, and black pepper all over the steak. Make sure it is evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature if needed.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Bread

While the steak rests, cut the French baguette in half lengthwise. Toast the inside of the bread in the skillet or grill until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic clove and let it infuse for 1-2 minutes.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread the garlic butter on the inside of each toasted baguette half. Layer with lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, and the sliced ribeye steak.

  8. 8

    Add Condiments

Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the top half of the baguette. Close the sandwich and press down gently.

  9. 9

    Serve

Cut the sandwich into manageable pieces and serve immediately while warm.
