Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Wash and scrub the baby potatoes, then cut them in half. Season the New York strip steaks with salt and black pepper. Chop the seasonal vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Slice the onion thinly for frying.

  2. 2

    Roast the Baby Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss the halved baby potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet and roast for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and tender.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the New York strip steaks. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Baste with melted butter during cooking for added flavor.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Seasonal Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the steak, add the seasonal vegetables. Sauté them for about 5-7 minutes until tender, adding salt and pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Fry the Onions

In a separate pot or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Dredge the sliced onions in flour, shaking off the excess. Fry the onions until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, place a portion of roasted baby potatoes, sautéed seasonal vegetables, and a New York strip steak. Drizzle the demi-glace over the steak and garnish with crispy fried onions and fresh herbs.
