Chimichurri Sauce

Roasted Peppers

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak Rub

In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the hanger steak.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, place the steak in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Drain and dry the soaked potatoes thoroughly. Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt immediately.

Chimichurri Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Chimichurri

In a food processor, combine parsley, cilantro, garlic, red wine vinegar, olive oil, red pepper flakes, and salt. Pulse until finely chopped. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.

Roasting Peppers

  1. 6

    Roast the Bell Peppers

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the bell peppers in half and remove seeds. Toss with olive oil and salt, then place on a baking sheet cut side down. Roast for about 20-25 minutes until the skin is blistered and charred. Remove and let cool, then peel off the skins.
