Pulled Pork

Toppings (optional)

Method

Pulled Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder. Season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks. Mix in the barbecue sauce and set aside.

Macaroni and Cheese

  1. 4

    Cook the Macaroni

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 5

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, until bubbling. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Assemble the Bowl

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

In a bowl, layer the macaroni and cheese, followed by the pulled pork. Top with sliced green onions, jalapeños, and crispy fried onions if desired. Serve warm.
