Method

For the Pulled Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.

  2. 2

    Shred the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Once cool enough to handle, use two forks to shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 3

    Mix with Barbecue Sauce

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the shredded chicken back in. Pour the barbecue sauce over the chicken, stirring well to combine. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.

For the Sandwich Assembly

  1. 4

    Toast the Burger Buns

While the chicken is cooking, you can toast the burger buns. Heat a separate skillet over medium heat and place the buns cut-side down. Toast for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Coleslaw

In a bowl, combine the coleslaw mix with mayonnaise. Mix well until the coleslaw is evenly coated.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Sandwiches

On each toasted bun, place a generous amount of pulled chicken, top with coleslaw, and add pickle slices. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
