Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chop the Cabbage

Remove the outer leaves of the green and red cabbage. Cut the cabbages into quarters and remove the core. Finely shred or chop the cabbage into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Grate the Carrots

Peel the carrots and use a grater to shred them into thin pieces. Alternatively, you can use a food processor with a grating attachment.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Vegetables

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, shredded red cabbage, and grated carrots. Toss them together to mix evenly.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, celery seed, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  3. 5

    Combine Dressing and Vegetables

Pour the dressing over the mixed vegetables. Toss until the vegetables are thoroughly coated in the dressing.

Serving

  1. 6

    Chill and Serve

Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled as a side dish.
