Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beef Ribs
Start by trimming excess fat from the beef ribs to ensure they cook evenly and do not become overly greasy.
- 2
Make the Dry Rub
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 3
Apply the Dry Rub
Generously rub the dry mix all over the beef ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the ribs with plastic wrap and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Cooking
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). This low and slow cooking method will yield tender and flavorful beef ribs.
- 5
Wrap the Ribs
Place the seasoned beef ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil. Wrap them tightly, sealing the edges to create a packet that will hold in moisture while cooking.
- 6
Bake the Ribs
Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 3 hours.
- 7
Prepare the Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar. Heat over medium-low heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally.
- 8
Finish the Ribs
After 3 hours, carefully unwrap the ribs (watch out for hot steam). Brush the ribs generously with the barbecue sauce mixture, then return them to the oven for an additional 30 minutes, uncovered, to caramelize the sauce.
Serving
- 9
Slice and Serve
Once the ribs are done, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
