Biscuits and Toppings

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bacon

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the bacon slices on the sheet and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over each slice. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and caramelized. Remove from the oven and let cool.

  2. 2

    Make the Biscuits

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter.

  3. 3

    Bake the Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Prepare Maple-Butter

In a small bowl, combine softened butter and maple syrup. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

Slice the warm biscuits in half, layer with the billionaire bacon, and serve with a generous dollop of house maple-butter on the side.
