Method

For the Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken tenders and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In another bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture. Fry the chicken tenders in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and drizzle with hot honey before serving.

For the Churros

  1. 4

    Make the Dough

In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in the flour until combined. Let cool slightly, then beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth.

  2. 5

    Fry the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 375°F (190°C). Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 6

    Coat the Churros

In a bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture while they are still warm.
