Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Griddle Cakes

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  2. 2

    Cook the Griddle Cakes

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet for each cake. Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of maple syrup on top of the batter. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In another skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Cook the Eggs

In the same skillet used for the bacon, crack an egg and fold it gently to create a round shape. Cook until the white is set, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Assemble the McGriddles

Layer a griddle cake with a slice of American cheese, the folded egg, two slices of bacon, and top with another griddle cake. Drizzle more maple syrup on top if desired.
