Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    For Broiled Flounder

    1. Preheat the broiler in your oven. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easier cleanup. 2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade. 3. Place the flounder fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush both sides with the marinade. 4. Broil the fish for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and has a golden-brown color. 5. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

  2. 2

    For Fried Flounder

    1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. 2. In a shallow dish, mix flour (or cornmeal), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. 3. Dredge each flounder fillet in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. 4. Carefully place the coated fillets in the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. 5. Transfer the fried flounder to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
