Petits Fours Ingredients

Method

Petits Fours Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the almond flour and mix well. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and milk until the batter is smooth.

  2. 2

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.

  3. 3

    Cut into Squares

Once cooled, remove the cake from the pan and place it on a cutting board. Cut into small squares (about 1 inch) or rectangles.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Fondant

If you want colored fondant, knead in food coloring until you reach the desired shade. Roll out the fondant on a clean surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Petits Fours

Wrap each cake square with a layer of fondant, smoothing it down to adhere. Trim any excess fondant from the edges. Place the petits fours on a serving tray.

  6. 6

    Decorate

Add decorative toppings to each petit four as desired, such as edible glitter or sprinkles.
