Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Duck

Score the skin of the duck breasts in a criss-cross pattern. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Duck

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Place the duck breasts skin-side down and sear for 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and let rest.

  3. 3

    Make the Cherry Sauce

In the same skillet, add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add fresh cherries, orange juice, and honey. Simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Toast the Rye Bread

While the sauce is simmering, toast the rye bread slices until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the duck breasts and serve on top of the toasted rye bread, drizzled with cherry sauce.
