Soda Choices (single-serve portions)
Optional additions
Method
Standard fountain pour
Chill glass and prepare ice
If desired, chill the serving glass in the freezer for a few minutes. Add the indicated amount of ice to the glass (about 1 cup of cubes) unless serving without ice.
Select soda
Choose which soda you want from the Soda Choices list. Each soda listed is portioned as a single 1-cup serving. For a standard fountain pour, use a single flavor. If making multiple servings, scale quantities by the number of servings.
Pour soda
Hold the glass at a slight angle (about 45 degrees) under the fountain dispenser nozzle. Depress the lever and allow soda to flow gently down the side of the glass to reduce foam. When the glass is about three-quarters full, straighten the glass and top off to the desired level. Release the lever and remove the glass.
Garnish and serve
If desired, garnish with a lemon or lime wedge on the rim or drop in a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately with a straw or napkin.
Mixing multiple flavors (optional)
To create a combo (for example, half Coke and half Dr Pepper), chill the glass and add ice if desired. Pour the first soda into the tilted glass until it reaches about half the desired final volume, then pour the second soda directly on top while the glass is slightly more upright to control foaming. Adjust proportions to taste.
For carbonated float-style drinks (e.g., root beer float), pour the soda slowly over the back of a spoon to reduce foaming, then add one or two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Serve immediately with a long spoon.
