Crab Cakes
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined.
- 2
Form the Cakes
Using your hands, form the mixture into patties, about 2 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place the formed crab cakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Chill the Crab Cakes
Refrigerate the crab cakes for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.
- 4
Cook the Crab Cakes
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes in batches, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Serve
Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with coriander chow-chow and curried aioli on the side.
