Burger Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Jalapeño BBQ Sauce

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, diced jalapeños, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and let it cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into two equal parts and shape them into patties.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Cook the Burgers

In the same skillet, add olive oil and heat over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of smoked cheddar on each patty to melt.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly. On the bottom half of each bun, place the burger patty with melted cheddar, top with two slices of bacon, and drizzle with the jalapeño BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
