Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Preheat the broiler. Season the New York strip steaks with salt and black pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and rub to coat.

  2. 2

    Broil the Steak

Place the seasoned steaks on a broiler pan and broil for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.

Making the Bleu Cheese Butter

  1. 3

    Prepare Bleu Cheese Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, crumbled bleu cheese, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 4

    Cook the Potatoes

Place potatoes in a pot with water and add the whole head of garlic. Bring to a boil and cook until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 5

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and garlic. In a bowl, mash the potatoes with butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.

Preparing the Broccolini

  1. 6

    Cook the Broccolini

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the broccolini and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Dish

Plate the broiled steak, top with bleu cheese butter, and serve alongside the garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed broccolini.
