Spaghetti

Method

Cooking Spaghetti

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4-6 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain and Toss

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander, then return it to the pot. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and toss to coat. Set aside.

Preparing Shrimp Scampi

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 5

    Sauté Shrimp

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Add Shrimp

Add the large shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  4. 7

Mix in Lemon Juice and Parsley

Stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley. Remove from heat.

  5. 8

    Assemble Scampi

In a baking dish, combine the sautéed shrimp mixture, cooked spaghetti, and toss well to combine.

  6. 9

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and 1 cup of bread crumbs evenly over the top.

  7. 10

    Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
