Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the bittersweet chocolate and unsalted butter. Stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and large eggs until well combined and slightly frothy.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract to the egg mixture. Stir until fully combined.
- 5
Add Dry Ingredients
Sprinkle in the salt and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Bake the Torte
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
- 7
Cool the Torte
Remove the torte from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a plate and remove the parchment paper. Allow to cool completely.
