Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty approximately 1 inch thick. Use your thumb to create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until browned, then flip. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side, adding a slice of cheese on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, a few pickle slices, and any condiments like ketchup and mustard. Finish with the top half of the bun.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Serve the assembled cheeseburgers immediately with your choice of sides, such as fries or a salad.
