Base

Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vegetable oil until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat Skillet

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with a little oil or cooking spray.

  2. 5

    Cook Batter

Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet for each serving. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 6

    Flip and Finish

Carefully flip the pancakes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Topping Preparation

  1. 7

    Add Toppings

Once the pancakes are cooked, stack them on a plate and top with shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, and a dollop of sour cream.
