Base Preparation

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Cooking

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool
Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the dish for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Berries
While the base is cooling, wash the fresh berries and pat them dry. If using strawberries, slice them into smaller pieces.

Once the base has cooled, slice it into squares, top each piece with the prepared berries and a dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
