Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking. Pat the steak dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Apply Seasoning

Rub the steak with olive oil on both sides. Then, sprinkle the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly over both sides of the steak, ensuring to massage the spices into the meat.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (around 450-500°F or 232-260°C).

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Once the grill is hot, place the ribeye steak on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare. Do not move the steak during this time to get a good sear.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak over and grill for another 4-5 minutes. Adjust the time according to your preference for doneness.

  4. 6

    Check Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130-135°F (54-57°C).

  5. 7

    Rest the Steak

Once done, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
