Start by brewing a fresh cup of espresso. Allow it to cool slightly before using.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, ensuring there is enough ice to chill the mixture effectively.

Combine Ingredients
In the cocktail shaker, add 1.5 oz of gin or vodka, 0.5 oz of dry vermouth, 0.5 oz of simple syrup, and the freshly brewed espresso.

Secure the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
