Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each into a patty about ¾ inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip them and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, spread mayonnaise, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add lettuce, tomato slices, onion rings, and pickles. Drizzle ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 6

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press gently to secure. Repeat for all burgers.
