Demerara Sugar Syrup

Garnish (optional)

Method

Cold Brew Preparation

  1. 1

    Step 1: Brew the Coffee

In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coarsely ground coffee and cold water. Stir gently to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Steep

Cover the jar and let it steep in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Strain

After steeping, strain the mixture through a coffee filter or a fine mesh sieve into a clean container. Discard the coffee grounds.

Oat Milk Preparation

  1. 4

    Step 1: Blend Oats

In a blender, combine rolled oats, 4 cups of water, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend on high for about 30 seconds until smooth.

  2. 5

    Step 2: Strain Oat Milk

Strain the blended mixture through a nut milk bag or a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.

Demerara Sugar Syrup Preparation

  1. 6

    Step 1: Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of demerara sugar and 1 cup of water.

  2. 7

    Step 2: Heat and Stir

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved completely. Allow it to come to a gentle simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

  3. 8

    Step 3: Cool and Store

Let the syrup cool before transferring it to a clean bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to a month.
