Method
Preparation
- 1
Slice the Bread
Using a serrated knife, slice the Cuban bread loaf in half lengthwise. Ensure the cut is even to hold all the fillings properly.
- 2
Layer the Meats
On the bottom half of the sliced bread, layer the roast pork, ham, and salami evenly. Make sure to cover the entire surface of the bread.
- 3
Add the Cheese
Place the Swiss cheese on top of the meat layers, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
- 4
Add Pickles and Mustard
Place the dill pickle slices on top of the cheese. Spread the yellow mustard evenly over the pickles.
Cooking
- 5
Preheat the Pan
Heat a skillet or panini press over medium heat. Allow it to get hot before adding the sandwich.
- 6
Butter the Bread
Spread the unsalted butter evenly on the outside of the top and bottom halves of the sandwich to achieve a golden, crispy texture.
- 7
Grill the Sandwich
Place the sandwich in the hot skillet or panini press. If using a skillet, press down with a spatula or another heavy pan. Grill for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- 8
Slice and Serve
Once grilled to perfection, remove the sandwich from heat. Let it rest for a minute before slicing diagonally. Serve hot and enjoy!
