Grits Preparation

Boil Water
In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Add Grits
Once the water is boiling, gradually whisk in 1 cup of grits to prevent lumps.

Cook Grits
Reduce heat to low and stir occasionally. Cook for about 20-25 minutes until thickened and creamy.

Add Ingredients
Stir in 4 tablespoons of butter, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper until well combined.
Shrimp Preparation

Sauté Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Season Shrimp
Add 1 pound of peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir to coat shrimp evenly.

Cook Shrimp
Cook shrimp for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

Garnish
Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
