Method

Preparation of Brisket

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the brisket. Let it sit at room temperature for 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Ensure you have enough wood chips for a good smoke flavor.

  3. 3

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up. Smoke for about 1 hour per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  4. 4

    Rest the Brisket

Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker and wrap it in foil. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Preparation of Sides

  1. 5

    Prepare the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine 4 cups of coleslaw mix with your favorite dressing. Toss well and let it chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

  2. 6

    Heat the Baked Beans

In a saucepan, heat 4 cups of baked beans over medium heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

After the brisket has rested, slice it against the grain into thin strips. Arrange the sliced brisket on a platter and serve with coleslaw and baked beans on the side.
