Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Prepare the Bread
Cut the stale bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Add the raisins and gently fold in.

Transfer and Bake
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and the pudding is set.

Cool
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Bourbon Sauce

Melt Butter
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Add Brown Sugar
Once melted, stir in the brown sugar until it dissolves.

Stir in Heavy Cream and Bourbon
Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and bourbon, allowing the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Finish with Vanilla
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
