Method

Bread Pudding

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Cut the stale bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Add the raisins and gently fold in.

  5. 5

    Transfer and Bake

Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and the pudding is set.

  6. 6

    Cool

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Bourbon Sauce

  1. 7

    Melt Butter

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

  2. 8

    Add Brown Sugar

Once melted, stir in the brown sugar until it dissolves.

  3. 9

Stir in Heavy Cream and Bourbon

Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and bourbon, allowing the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. 10

    Finish with Vanilla

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
