Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ham

Remove the Edwards of Surry Virginia Ham from its packaging and place it on a cutting board. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut too deep.

Glaze Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix the Glaze

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Brush the Ham

Remove the glaze from heat and brush a generous amount over the scored surface of the ham, ensuring it gets into the cuts.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Ham

Place the ham in a roasting pan and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1.5 hours.

  2. 6

    Add More Glaze

After the first hour, remove the foil and baste the ham with additional glaze. Return to the oven uncovered for another 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).

Serving

  1. 7

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with your favorite sides.
