Method
Crab Cakes Preparation
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the jumbo lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until just combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
- 2
Form Patties
Using your hands, form the mixture into 8 equal-sized patties. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- 3
Tartar Sauce Preparation
- 4
Mix Tartar Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, lemon juice, chopped capers, and fresh dill. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Prepare Buns
Slice the brioche buns in half and toast them lightly on the skillet or in a toaster.
- 6
Build the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun, place a generous portion of shredded romaine lettuce, followed by a tomato slice, and then top with a crab cake. Spread a good amount of tartar sauce on the top half of the bun and place it on the sandwich.
- 7
Serve with Fries
Serve the crab cake sandwiches alongside beach fries for a complete meal.
