Flatbread or Pizza

Method

Flatbread or Pizza

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pizza Dough

If using store-bought pizza dough, allow it to come to room temperature. If making from scratch, prepare the dough according to your recipe and let it rise until doubled in size.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking the pizza.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sausage

Remove the casing from the Molinari sausage and crumble it into small pieces.

  4. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness, typically around ¼ inch thick.

  5. 5

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

  6. 6

    Add Sausage and Seasoning

Evenly distribute the crumbled Molinari sausage over the cheese. Sprinkle the grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese on top. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle the olive oil over the pizza to add flavor and help with browning.

  8. 8

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the pizza onto a baking sheet or pizza stone and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  9. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Top with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
