Lemon Garlic Aioli

Method

Preparing the Calamari

  1. 1

    Coat the Calamari

In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture until evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  3. 3

    Fry the Calamari

Carefully add the coated calamari to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Preparing the Gremolata

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the finely chopped parsley, minced garlic, lemon zest, and olive oil. Add salt to taste and mix well.

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Serve the fried calamari hot on a platter, topped with gremolata and accompanied by a side of lemon garlic aioli for dipping.
