Canned Drinks - Single Serving (prepare per customer request)

Method

Canned Drinks - Single Serving (prepare per customer request)

  1. 1

Cold canned drink — straight from the can

Select the canned drink requested by the guest. Ensure the can is intact and within date. Optional: chill the can in the refrigerator or an ice bucket for 10–20 minutes if not already cold. Present the unopened cold can to the guest with a straw and a napkin.

  2. 2

    1) Fill a clean glass about three-quarters full with ice (approximately 1 cup). 2) Open the requested can by pulling the tab; hold can tip-down slightly to avoid splashing. 3) Pour the entire contents of the can steadily into the glass over the ice. 4) If the guest requested a garnish, place a lemon or lime wedge on the rim or squeeze it into the drink and drop it in. 5) Place a straw in the glass if desired and serve immediately on a small coaster or saucer with a napkin.

  3. 3

Sparkling or carbonated canned drinks — best practices

    1) When pouring carbonated beverages, tilt the glass at a 45° angle and pour slowly to preserve carbonation and minimize foam. 2) If excessive foam forms, pause and let it settle before continuing. 3) Do not shake the can before opening. 4) If the guest prefers the drink straight from the can, offer a clean glass or napkin to set the can on.

  4. 4

Iced tea or nectar (sweetened) — optional chill and pour

    1) If the canned tea or juice is not cold, place the can in an ice bucket for 10–15 minutes or refrigerate briefly. 2) Pour over ice as described above. 3) Adjust sweetness only if guest requests: offer lemon wedge, simple syrup (not included by default), or extra ice to dilute.

  5. 5

    Presentation and server actions

    1) Ask the guest if they would like the drink poured into a glass or served in the can. 2) Confirm if ice, garnish, or a straw is desired. 3) When serving, set the glass or can on a napkin or coaster. 4) Remove any empty cans promptly and offer refills or another beverage when appropriate.
