Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic (finely chopped), salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Halibut

Place the halibut fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure each fillet is coated well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are hot and have a light ash covering.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Grill the Halibut

Remove the halibut fillets from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Place the fillets on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

  2. 5

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the halibut reaches 145°F (63°C).

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Once cooked, transfer the grilled halibut onto a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley leaves and lemon wedges.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, enjoying the fresh flavors of the grilled halibut.
