Method
Preparation
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh lump crab meat, mayonnaise, bread crumbs, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley.
- 2
Combine Mixture
Gently fold the ingredients together until just combined. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
- 3
Chill Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes. This will help the cakes hold together when cooking.
Cooking
- 4
Form Patties
After chilling, shape the crab mixture into patties, approximately 2-3 inches in diameter and about 1 inch thick.
- 5
Heat Skillet
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet.
- 6
Cook Crab Cakes
Cook the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and heated through.
- 7
Drain Excess Oil
Once cooked, transfer the crab cakes to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- 8
Serve
Serve the crab cakes warm with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon.
