Focaccia Dough

Method

Focaccia Dough

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

  4. 4

    Prepare Dough for Baking

Once risen, punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet, pressing it into the corners. Cover and let it rise again for 30 minutes.

Sun-Dried Tomatoes

  1. 5

    Prepare Sun-Dried Tomatoes

In a bowl, mix the sun-dried tomatoes with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, and chopped basil. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.

  2. 6

    Add to Focaccia

After the second rise, press the marinated sun-dried tomatoes into the focaccia dough.

Burrata Sauce

  1. 7

    Prepare Burrata Sauce

In a bowl, tear the burrata cheese into pieces and mix with heavy cream, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth but still creamy.

Grilling and Serving

  1. 8

    Grill Focaccia

Preheat your grill. Once hot, place the focaccia on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.

  2. 9

    Serve

Slice the grilled focaccia and serve warm with the burrata sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.
