Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into long strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes from the water and dry them thoroughly using a clean kitchen towel.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 6

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 7

    Season the Steak

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 8

    Grill the Steak

Preheat a grill or grill pan over high heat. Grill the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

  4. 9

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Making the Garlic Butter

  1. 10

    Prepare the Garlic

    Mince the garlic cloves finely.

  2. 11

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

  3. 12

    Combine Ingredients

Add the minced garlic and fresh parsley to the melted butter. Season with a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine.

  4. 13

    Serve

Remove the garlic butter from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
